Lincoln-Sudbury sophomore Alex Taylor glides down a hill during a biathlon race in the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in South Korea. “The coaches were amazing and I learned so much while over there,” Taylor said. “Biathlon has such a large focus on the process of racing and the things that you can learn from each session, and I feel like I was able to grow as an athlete.

Gavron has been teaching since 1994, and took on the position of head coach for the WHS boys varsity soccer team in 2008. On Saturday, April 6, the Wayland Student Press Network (WSPN) won first place in the NSPA (National Scholastic Press Association) Best of Show Award competition for online newspapers with a student body under 1,800 and its fifth consecutive Online Pacemaker at the NSPA/JEA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Kansas City. Three WSPN editors work was recognized by Quill & Scroll and six WSPN students received awards for student media contests.
