The remainder of the North Island, except Gisborne
Mostly fine. Areas of fog and frost tomorrow morning. Scattered showers developing in Taranaki tomorrow afternoon and from Horowhenua to Wellington tomorrow evening.
Gisborne
Cloudy, with isolated showers clearing this afternoon. Becoming fine tomorrow morning.
Nelson and Marlborough
Fine today. Areas of cloud and isolated showers tomorrow, clearing in the afternoon or evening.
Buller and Westland
Fine and cloudy periods. Isolated showers.
Canterbury and Otago, except Clutha
Areas of cloud, especially mornings and evenings, otherwise fine.
Clutha, Southland and Fiordland
Cloudy periods and isolated showers, mainly about the south coast.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods and a few showers.
Outlook for following three days
Monday
North Island: Fine in the east at first, but showers developing with southerlies later. Partly cloudy with scattered showers elsewhere, especially in the north and west.
South Island: Rain or showers developing in the south and east, but easing in Southland and Otago later. Scattered showers elsewhere clearing late.
Tuesday
North Island: Early rain or showers, gradually clearing apart from in the northeast from Northland to Gisborne.
South Island: A few showers persist in the far south, mostly fine elsewhere.
Wednesday
North Island: Scattered showers in the north, also Gisborne and Hawke's Bay, fine elsewhere.
South Island: Showers in the south, spreading north Canterbury late. Fine elsewhere.
Chatham Islands
Rain developing Monday, clearing early Tuesday. A few showers developing on Wednesday. Northwesterlies changing southwest overnight Monday.
