Well that confirms it! Newly engaged Mary-Kate Olsen steps out wearing a giant diamond on her ring finger

While Mary-Kate Olsen has been very quiet about her engagement to French banker Olivier Sarkozy, her ring finger did all the talking on Monday.

The 27-year-old star showed off some very serious bling as she and her twin sister Ashley left an office building in New York.

While the couple - who have been dating for almost two years - have yet to officially confirm their engagement, the child star turned designer certainly made a statement wearing a very large diamond ring on her wedding finger.

Much like the unusual couple - The French banker is 17 years the actress' senior - the ring was not your run of the mill princess cut engagement ring.

That's different: The unusual ring featured a large round white diamond in a heavy gold setting that was folded around the precious stone like a pie crust with an equally heavy gold band

Instead it comprised of a large round white diamond in a heavy gold setting that was folded around the precious stone like a pie crust.

The ring's band was equally heavy, featuring a fanned out design with a grooved pattern.

The ring stood out more on the star's tiny hand thanks to her dark outfit providing the perfect contrast allowing it to sparkle more.

For her day out, Mary-Kate wore a pair of straight leg jeans, cropped at the ankle, with a big blue woolen trench over a cream jumper.

Obviously feeling the cold, the designer covered her face with a big scarf and also accessorised her look with a pair of aviators and black pointed toe heels.

Her sister, Ashley, also chose to wear aviator sunglasses but wrapped up in a pair of black jeans with black flat boots, a light grey woolen three-quarter length coat and a blue scarf fashionable draped across her.

Last week US Weekly revealed the pair were engaged.

According to the magazine Olivier - who is the half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy - got down on one knee to Mary-Kate while they were vacationing together in Jamaica last month.

Despite raised eyebrows over their large age gap, the couple, who first debuted their relationship in May 2012, already live together in a $6.25million townhouse in New York's Lower East Side.

This will be the child star's first marriage, it is Olivier's second. He divorced his ex-wife Charlotte Bernard, with whom he has two kids, Julien, 12, and Margo, ten, in 2011.
