Colorado – December, 2016
No more training, no more 5a wake-up calls, no more worrying “can I do this?” or “should I be doing this?” Just 26.2 miles to go. The TCS New York City Marathon is tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited to be running alongside my buddy @twheat. Thanks so much to TAGHeuer for sponsoring my entry and special thanks to my family for supporting me and being my biggest cheerleader throughout this 16 week training process.
Alberta and BC – October, 2016
My buddy @twheat and I ran recently ran our longest training run yet – 20 miles. It felt great to check that long run off our list but it felt even better to spend some time relaxing and recovering with my family in Prospect Park a few days later. The TAG Heuer Connected Watch came in handy when racing my son Dean, who gets faster and faster every day.
Coney Island – September, 2016
You see a lot of things when you go on a long run in NY – one neighborhood blends into the next, landscapes shift, seas of people make way for open stretches in the park. Love having my TAGHeuer Connected Watch with me as my marathon training runs get longer and longer, keeping me on pace the whole way.
Brooklyn moments – Summer, 2016
The best part about 6am wake up calls is having the road to yourself. Couldn’t be more excited to be running my second New York City Marathon this November thanks to TAG Heuer. I last ran the race in 2010 and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done, but it was also a huge letdown. I got injured during the race and hobbled across the finish line, barely able to walk. I felt robbed of the thrill of finishing a marathon because of the pain of my injury. I couldn’t run for months after the race. Still, I told myself I’d run another one someday. Here I am 6 years later – I’ve been training for about a month now through all of the city’s beautifully diverse landscapes. I’m feeling great and I can’t wait to tackle this incredible challenge again.
