A packaging company has closed the Manx arm of its production unit with the loss of more than a dozen jobs.
Bapco Closures, which has bases in Surrey and Northern Ireland, makes plastic lids and ring-pulls for the food and drink industry.
Thirteen people lost their jobs at the Jurby unit, which closed on Tuesday.
According to Bapco's general manager Andrew Bell, the closure was "regrettable" and due to the firm restructuring for economic reasons.
Mr Bell said: "It is with much regret that Bapco Closures has taken the decision to close the Isle of Man production unit in Jurby.
"This closure is due to a restructuring of Bapco Closures as it strives for economic advantage in a very demanding market.
"This announcement is certainly not a reflection upon the hard efforts and professionalism of the Jurby workforce, who have supported the business 100%."
