Here at Hewlett International, we have always believed that striving for the best performance and quality inserts to suit each customer is our utmost priority. From the initial concept to the final product, our attention to detail is second to none.

Being able to have the option to flexibly customize the insert from its coating to its length to best fit your product is among the many reasons that our customers have been coming back to us over the years.

WHY CHOOSE US

Strength

  • Our wire thread inserts have an improved residual stress loading distribution as compared to conventional tapped holes as up to 70% of the shear force are carried by the first three threads in the tapped hole.

  • Its flexibility also helps to compensate for pitch and flank angle errors which are inherent in normal tapped holes and also enhances the load-bearing capacity significantly.

High-Temperature Tolerance

  • As our inserts are manufactured by 18/8 stainless steel, they are very suitable for operations with high heat environments that range from -160ºC to +420ºC (-320ºF to + 800ºF). However, for customers that require our inserts to work under extreme and elevated temperatures, we would manufacture our inserts with creep resistant nickel-based alloys instead.

Cost & Weight Benefits

  • Our Wire Thread Inserts are much lighter and less costly than other thread inserts. Due to their size, they are able to be incorporated into existing designs without the need of sacrificing thread strength.

Wear Resistant

  • Due to a combination of the material hardness and brilliant surface finish wire thread inserts create internal threads in which wear due to thread friction is virtually eliminated. This is of particular value in applications requiring repeated assembly & disassembly. The low frictional coefficient ensures that virtually all of the applied assembly torque is converted into clamping load. Thus providing threads that stay tight.

Corrosion Resistant

  • Our inserts offer excellent corrosion resistance which prevents adverse seizing and galling at elevated temperatures due to it being made from 18/8  austenitic chromium/nickel stainless steel. For customers that require additional coating, it will be available in the options of cadmium,  zinc, aluminium, silver or molybdenum disulphide.
