Juice was introduced with the idea of putting together a small selection of creative experiments tied together by the fil rouge of experimentation of new languages: artistic design galleries, new industrial producers, self-producer designers, artists/artisans, in the belief that the life blood of the contemporary world is alternative thinking expressed in the forms of narration and poetry, suitable for capturing our multiple and mutant reality. With the aim of combining different dimensional and production levels to describe the experimental side of craft and the experimental side of industry, the scientific approach to design along with the material approach, without overlooking the aesthetic and communicational ones. A sort of fresco of the new situations in contemporary design, cut out for the exhibition in Mons on the new forms of Milanese and Italian design.
A selection that characterizes the new entrepreneurs of Italian design, it mixes highlights from the last three years with fresh items presented at Milan’s 2015 Salone del Mobile. Whether they are pieces closely linked to artisan craftsmanship or defined by the design of the item, whether they represent creative ideas turned into commercial projects or manual skills turned into small businesses, what emerges is the vitality and exuberance of making things. It’s a call to action for designers, craftsmen, and suppliers to engage with the search for expression, beyond all the work for companies, to create a capsule collections or limited edition design lines so that divertissements form the real work of design.
