Pouilly fumé 2012

Complex and elegant wines

The winter was dry and relatively soft, with a nice period of cold during the first fortnight of February, causing the destruction of some buds. The debudding was early (end of March- beginning of April). The climatic inversion (middle of April) involved a long period of three months rather cold and wet. Some buds were frozen again in April. The blooming took place on a rather long duration. A new change of climate occurred by July 14th with return of warm and dry weather conditions which allowed the end of the vegetative growth and a good véraison. The conditions of ripening were very favorable. The drought allowed the sugar concentration and the rains at the end of September favored a good balance. The cool nights protected the fleshy and the acidity whereas the aromas developed slowly and delicatly. Our grape harvests began September 29th and spread out on about ten days with good conditions.

Tasting notes : Pouilly Fumé 2012 present a remarkable roundness and concentration. The aromatic expression is intense. Well balanced, they are delicate and complex. White flowers and fresh fruit aromas prevail. They are enhanced by subtle spicy and mineral notes. Pouilly Fumé 2012 are a great harmony of freshness and richness.
