Kwadwo Asamoah close to returning to training with Juventus

There have been Juventus injuries this season. Some minor that meant those players were only out a couple of days, some that have left players out for weeks or even months. One of those long-term injuries is that of Kwadwo Asamoah, who was ruled out for four months back in early December after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

Could there be an end in sight to Asamoah's injury absence? Well ... maybe!

Juventus' official website gave us an update about Asamoah. An actual update! Go ahead and read.

On the injury front, there was good news for Kwadwo Asamoah who returned to Barcelona yesterday for a check-up following his knee surgery in December. Dr. Ramon Cugat, who performed the operation, said he was extremely satisfied with the progress made by the midfielder and gave him the green light to start running again within the next two weeks. Further tests will be conducted in the next month to ascertain his exact return date.

I mean, when they throw in "good news" to an injury update, something has to be going right in Asamoah's rehab process. We all knew he was going to be out for a loooooong time due to knee surgery. But now that we're able to actually getting close to thinking about where Asamoah fits into the puzzle when he is able to be included in the match day squad, that's a positive development.

Of course, the puzzle is a little different now that Max Allegri has gone to a four-man defense rather than just penciling Asamoah in as a wingback in a 3-5-2 formation.

That's a completely different discussion for another time. Like, you know, when Asamoah is actually given a full bill of health and is ready to play in games again. We've got at least a couple weeks for that, so let's not rush to any kind of conclusions right now. Patience, people, patience.
