'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Release Date, Spoilers Update: Nina Dobrev and Vampires Renewed for New Season By CW

The CW has just announced that it has renewed "The Vampire Diaries" for Season 6! 

"'The Vampire Diaries' is No. 2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday," said CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a report, promoting the network's successful midweek lineup.

Pedowitz continues to express his network's success. "I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series and let our fans know they'll have more great drama to look forward to next season," said the CW exec in the announcement. 

The CW will in fact renewed five shows: "The Originals" ("The Vampire Diaries" spinoff), "Arrow", "Reign", "Supernatural", and of course "The Vampire Diaries". So not only has TVD been renewed, but its successful spin-off can also get excited to get another season.

So not only has "The Vampire Diaries" get renewed, but also its very successful spin-off series will also return for another season.

Season 5 has been rather mysterious so far, featuring more drama from characters who look like other notable characters from the hit series. Fans will be thrilled to discover what will happen at the end of Season 5 and see how it will lead up to the upcoming season. Some fans believe this season many memorable episodes, especially the 100th episode that aired on January 23, 2014.

Fans of the series love "The Vampire Diaries" because it has the power to attract its viewers with fascinating acting performances and story lines.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is expected to begin in either September or October. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
