On Monday, Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion was in court in Florida for a hearing regarding the status of the money and vehicle that were seized by Florida police during a traffic stop earlier this month. The free agent-to-be was found with over 3/4 of a pound of marijuana in his car, along with nearly $200,000 in cash and an unloaded handgun, but was trying to prove to a judge that the cash was unrelated to the drugs so that it could be released.
On Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine, Packers GM Ted Thompson said that the team was "monitoring" Guion's situation. Head coach Mike McCarthy was more open about Guion, however, and said that the tackle was back in Green Bay; furthermore, the coach said he has "talked to (Guion) a number of times" and would "love to have Letroy back."
McCarthy might just get his wish. A report from ESPN's Adam Caplan suggests that judgment on Guion's hearing should be coming shortly:

He's expected to get back his money (just over $190,000) and his truck.

This is obviously good news for Guion personally, and if the ruling indeed goes in his favor it indicates that the judge found no connection between the money and the drugs he had on him at the time of the arrest, which is consistent with Guion's story. That would likely lessen any punishment that would be levied by the NFL, and would improve the chances of Guion returning to the Packers in 2015.
