2016 Car Show

36th Annual Car Show & Swap Meet – May 16, 2016

The thirty-sixth annual Willmar Car Club Car Show and Swap Meet held on May 15 at Kennedy Elementary School in Willmar was changed to a Top 40 feature show this year.

  • Dennis Butkowski of St. Joseph won the Participants’ Choice Best of Show trophy with a 1949 Chevrolet 3100 ½-ton pickup.
  • Craig Lovold won the Spectators’ Choice Best of Show trophy with a 1958 BMW Isetta 300.
  • The Pedal Powered class award went to Cayden Hutchinson from Wabasso for his 1970’s Volkswagen Bug pedal car.
  • The Motorcycle class award went to Al Thompson from Spicer for his 1968 Harley-Davidson Sprint motorcycle.
  • The Don Thompson Memorial award in memory of Don Thompson was presented to Mike Erickson of Stanchfield for his 1937 Ford 78 standard tudor slantback sedan.
  • The Oldest Vehicle award went to Darrell E. Kriese of Alexandria for a 1923 Ford phantom roadster.
  • The Show Chairmen’s Choice went to Mike Zwilling of Rockville for his 1938 Pontiac coupe.
  • The Club Participation awards went to the Cold Spring Street Machines club from Cold Spring which had 13 vehicles entered.
  • The Willmar Car Club Show Display award was presented to Gary Nielsen of Willmar for his 1950 Ford custom deluxe converti-ble. Members of the Cold Spring Street Machines club from Cold Spring made the choice.
  • The Top 40 award winners were:
