Antarctica is different from anything else you will ever experience. A continent enclosed by a coldwater current circling a landmass so large that the total area of France, Germany and Spain would fit in – ten times, so cold that only two species of vascular plants have found it inhabitable here and with a sheet of ice averaging a thickness of more than 2000 meters. No permanent human inhabitants, millions of penguins, feeding area for thousands of whales in the Austral summer and a continent dedicated to science and peace. Nevertheless – Words simply does not describe the feeling of being on the Great White Continent.
