ABOUT ME

I love to discover problems and work to solve them by combining a focus on people with technology. I am an educator, no matter what field I enter. I have 20+ years’ experience as an instructor in higher education: Humanities, Literature, Liberal Arts, Mythology.

I enjoyed serving as Head of the English Department for a college preparatory school and moved from that world to the world of college educator where I have been involved in course design, facilitator training, curriculum development, and serving on student advisory committees, in addition to teaching across the field of Liberal Arts. During my time as an educator, I have seen how technology can enhance learning and the overall student experience.

I will always be a teacher – that is part of who I am, but I have grown passionate about how A.I. might be used to provide quality healthcare in rural communities. This has led me to return to school for a graduate degree in Health Informatics and Information Governance. I am excited about the field in general, and specifically am drawn to legal perspectives of healthcare, compliance, privacy, and using technology to meet the needs of patients and practitioners and staff.

My personal and professional experiences have taught me the following about myself:

I can successfully apply my critical thinking and analytical skills across different fields.

  • I focus on excellence and ethics in all that I do.
  • I excel at the execution of big ideas
  • My gut instinct is good, but I integrate data when making decisions

I can align, lead and grow diverse teams as we work towards goals

  • I love to succeed, but helping a team succeed is even better
  • I excel in communicating with people in all environments
  • I am a motivating storyteller

I educate, refine and drive myself to be my best in all areas of my life

  • I am constantly learning
  • I never settle
  • I stay calm when addressing adversity and make high-quality decisions

I enjoy interacting with and learning from people.
