Cisco RX-SOP

The Art of the Tune

Any testing to be done was to be as transparent as possible and something that anyone could replicate.

The No Strings Attached Show was recently invited into the Cisco real-world labs in Richfield, Ohio to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into the claims made by many manufacturers and how this manifests itself in real-world testing situations.

Our Test

While we couldn't build a stadium or extremely high density area to test RX-SOP in the good news is you don't need to! This test can easily be replicated with 2 APs and 2 clients. Each AP will be on the same channel and the clients connected.

Results

By properly tuning RX-SOP to our test environment we were able to see roughly a 20% increase in aggregate throughput. While this may not seem like much it can mean the difference between a successful and a failed deployment.
