PhotoPrint is Free Software, released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Features:

PhotoPrint can do the following:

  • Print photographs 1-up, 2-up, 4-up or with any user-selectable number of rows and columns.
  • Create posters, split over several pages.
  • Arrange images into a sort of Carousel, fading from one to another.  (Ideal for CD labels)
  • Crop images to fit a specific frame.
  • Apply a decorative border to an image.
  • Make use of ICC colour profiles to provide accurate output.
  • Send 16-bit data to the printer, to avoid "contouring" problems in smooth gradients.
  • Apply a handful of effecs to an image, including sharpening, removing colour and adjusting colour temperature (ideal for cooling or warming black-and-white prints).

Requirements:

To compile and run PhotoPrint you will need:

  • Gutenprint 5.0.0 or later
  • LittleCMS
  • GTK+ 2.4 or later
  • NetPBM
  • LibJPEG
  • LibTIFF
  • CUPS (optional)

(For compiling, of course, you need GCC and all the appropriate -devel packages installed.)

PhotoPrint 0.4.2-pre2 Released

2010-05-29

After another lengthy break, another pre-release of PhotoPrint.  Apologies for the delay - I don't have nearly as much time for coding as I would like these days.  Many thanks to everyone who's suggested features - If I had time to implement them all I would do!

PhotoPrint 0.4.1b - a bugfix release

2009-11-07

A major bug crept into the last release (alongside all the minor ones!) which causes a segfault if you attempt to use the "Layout -> Clear Layout" menu item.  Version 0.4.1b fixes this.

PhotoPrint 0.4.1-pre4 Released

2009-10-11

Here's another pre-release with a few more bug fixes and new features.

Some major under-the-hood changes this time which need testing - but also one new feature - the ability to compute a hash of the current printer driver's behaviour, which can be used to detect when printer settings or updated drivers cause changes which invalidate printer profiles.
