BENQ releases V2 firmware for XL2411Z, XL2420Z, XL2720Z

BENQ just made an announcement for the V2 firmware for the BENQ Z-Series monitor. It is compatible with Blur Busters Strobe Utility – this utility allows adjusting (fix) the artifact discovered by Blur Busters.

UPDATE: Here are V2 Firmware upgrade instructions (if you already have a Z-Series), or alternatively, purchase Z-Series with V2 firmware preinstalled (if not purchased yet).

Got an XL2420z in the US from Newegg today, v1 firmware of course. I was expecting that, just wanted to see how good the monitor was and send it back, lol. What I wasn’t expecting, was to like it so much I’m now probably going to get the Mstar ISP upgrade unit and use this display instead of my FG2421. The contrast ratio is the only drawback besides the blur reduction firmware problems. This is still obviously a TN but compared to the grey borders on the ASUS lightboost monitors I’ve tried and the dithering and artifacting from the FG2421, this is a MUCH better all around display.

Chief, your too kind. I know your not BenQ I was commenting on their statement as I read it. I got the service menu to work – thank you. F/W Version: V001-20131008. yay – Im guessing Oct 8th 2013 version?

You and your team are doing such a superb job, thank you. Looks like I ‘may’ be getting the MSTAR unit when you make the information available. I just don’t understand why when BenQ releases a firmware that allows your tool to work with the blur reduction on these monitors; does not BenQ just release a firmware that actually fixes the issue. In their statement I never brought up that they state that there are several websites that have fixes (of some sort) for these monitors. This is a cop-out for a multi-million dollar company to rely on people like you to fix (for free) their problems (although you go above and beyond which I personally am grateful). But thats my frustration and Ill leave it at that.

Do you know if any more firmware fixes could be made available? I would be less hesitant to buy the MSTAR if I knew there may be many more updates to the firmware. Thank you very much again chief!
